Tourney round: 5 Round Championships: 2023: Sign-ups
Notes from the organizer: 18 months after Apterous' shortest high score format was introduced as a variant, we're yet to battle it out to find a 5-rounder champion. So here we go...
5 round games already have the "anyone can beat anyone" element about them, with one obscure spot, one excellent solve or one small misclick enough to decide many games. So let's go all in on that variance by making it a straight knockout tournament with a random open draw for each round and best of 1 throughout!
This is possibly the easiest tournament to win on apterous, as the champion will probably only play 25-30 rounds - but equally, there are no easy games here!
My intention is to give every round roughly 10 days to complete, which should be plenty - matches will only take about 5 minutes including the pleasantries!
