Matthew Tassier From this round onwards the running total of points scored so far in the tournament will be given in the Notes section for reference just in case it is needed for settling a tie for weakest link(s).
Zarte Siempre Does that not run the risk of being slightly unfair if someone has had lower maxes available?
Jim B Maybe that's part of the long game?
Matthew Tassier The real Weakest Link thrives on unfairness, so why not here?
Matty Artell I'd have thought it'd make more sense to go by maxes first?
Zarte Siempre OK - I'm the last person to bitch about unfairness if it's intentional :)
Jim B Nah, like Matthew says, it might be more "fair" that way, but since when was the Weakest Link about fairness? I'm already 3 down from round 1 so it's not self-interest (or is it?, etc.)
Jack Worsley Can we make it more like TWL by introducing voting after every round? Chris Butler, with 32 votes, you are the weakest link, goodbye.
Chris Butler Ha, cheers for the vote of confidence Jack! To make it really unfair you could go off 'goal difference' ;)
Chris Butler Also, is a losing score of 210 better than a winning score of 200?
Matthew Tassier Games are set up so that they can finish in a draw, so no chance of a 210!
Sean D Just to clarify Matthew, rules state that 'two lowest scoring players will leave the tournament'. Presumably then it's better to lose 190-180 to Prime than beat him 170-160?
Matthew Tassier Yes, that's right, it is decided on your score first. Only if that is tied is Prime's score taken into consideration.
Matthew Tassier Round 2 has seen 10 players complete back-to-back 200s, including this round's Strongest Link, Andrew.

Matthew Tassier Jamie R and Andy, you are the Weakest Links. GOODBYE!
Andy SC Thanks for organising Matthew, was fun while it lasted.
Matthew Tassier Cheers, thanks for playing Andy.
JNM Rawson Thanks, Matthew. Give me a shout if you organise another tourney
Matthew Tassier Cheers, Jamie. I'm sure I will at some point, so see you there! |
Notes from the organizer: Round two will be played in Nice format against Apterous Prime. The good news is that every target in Nice is gettable without needing to use all the available numbers. The bad news is that Prime is going to go pretty close to maxing the game so it's going to be difficult to score if you're not spot on.
The two lowest scoring players will leave the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest score then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far.
Good luck!
