Jim B Just want to say Matthew, this has been a beautifully-run tournament, love the way you're doing it! Until I get get knocked out of course, then I'll probably be calling for double elimination, or something
Matthew Tassier Thanks Jim, seems to be going smoothly so far and I think you've got a good few more rounds in you! I think we could probably stretch a double elimination version out to last a whole year.
Matty Artell Idea for 2017 :)
Tricia Lockhart Agree with Jim. great tournament, adroitly managed. I think I am on borrowed time but if I play as many rounds as possible as they become released, I'll maximise my enjoyment. I'm useless at Hyper, so may practise a little before that one.

Matthew Tassier Thanks Tricia. Your efforts have been well judged so far, keep on staying just out of that bottom two!
Julie McCarthy Quite a lot of lowish scores so far, Tricia, so an average of 5 points per round would be enough to see you through, so you should be able to declare to the nearest ten unless you're sure of being spot on. I play a lot of hyper, and usually choose 3 large to increase the chances of getting the very useful 100 or 200, while still leaving plenty of small numbers for the fiddly bits.

Tricia Lockhart Thanks, julie. i was terrified of thios round but I think I have scraped through using the tactics you suggested.
Matthew Tassier This round turned out to be quite a challenge after some of the earlier easier rounds. Callum finally misses his first max as for the first time in the tournament there are no max games. Well done to this round's Strongest Link, Jack.
Matthew Tassier Alex and John, you are the Weakest Links. GOODBYE! |
Notes from the organizer: Round six will be played in Hyper format against Apterous Prune. Though sometimes daunting, Hyper rounds are often easier than they first appear. Hyper has a more generous 45 second round limit and Prune won't be taking any points from you.
The two lowest scoring players in this round will leave the tournament. If there is a tie for lowest scores then the total score in the tournament so far will be taken into account amongst tied players (see notes by matches).
Good luck!
