Tricia Lockhart I'm definitely out this round. It has been a really good tournament. All arrangements efficient even slick. rounds were a good variety. So thank you once again Matthew.
Matthew Tassier You're welcome, Tricia. Glad you've enjoyed it, and you battled well to get this far.
Julie McCarthy You did great, Tricia :-)

Gevin Chapwell How do the deadlines for these work? From what I can see, the rounds that are currently ongoing always have quite long deadlines that appear to be altered retrospectively once the rounds are over. But round 1 was settled by two players not completing their games. Was there an explicit deadline that they missed?
Gevin Chapwell I've just noticed in the sign-up page it says at least a week, so anything over that and you risk going out.
Matthew Tassier When I mark a round as complete the deadline gets changed to that date.
| |
Chris Butler Did you say this is the 2nd time you've done this comp MT? If so, do you have a link to the first one so that I can have a gander? Ta
Matthew Tassier Nope, this is the first one. Marcus has hosted a nuimber of single-night Weakest Link tournaments but this is the first done in this manner.
Chris Butler Oh okay, my misunderstanding. Well it's working out rather well for a first-timer!
Matthew Tassier Thanks. Having all games played against bots makes it all a lot easier to keep control of.

Steve Balog Sorry I'm taking a bit long for some rounds. I just got a new job and have been looking for apartments, plus the transition from underemployment to working full time for the first time in a couple years has been a bit draining.
| |
Matthew Tassier That's cool Steve, and best of luck with the job.
Tricia Lockhart Well done everyone - Julie, you are probably like me in that a goal of coming high up is unrealistic, so it is a great thrill just to get through.
Matthew Tassier Great play from this round's Strongest Link Jack Worsley with an impressive max game.
Matthew Tassier After good runs getting this far, Robert and Tricia you are the Weakest Links. GOODBYE! |
Notes from the organizer: Round nine is to be played in Aegilops format against Apterous Waldorf. Aegilops is similar to normal except that large numbers may take any value in the range 11-99 and stepdown scoring is used. Waldorf likes to choose one large number. You may well prefer two.
The two lowest scoring players in this round will leave the tournament. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
From 46 entrants we are now down to the final 30. Well done for making it this far!
Ran from: 1 – 11 February 2016. Format: Aegilops Numbers Attack. Matches: One-off. Approved.
Fixtures: 30. Completed: 30.
Key. Green: winner. Red: loser. Grey: tie. (Stripes: provisional, match in progress.)
