Bradley Horrocks GL Rahul :)
Gevin Chapwell Good luck guys!
Sean Fletcher Best of luck Gents
Bradley Horrocks It takes balls to go first, you might not be happy with that given your bullet scores but will be tough to match.
Bradley Horrocks Just me to go now then! I won't be leaving it longer than necessary, when I get in I intend to play a few warm up games then crack on :)
Elliott Mellor And we have a new name to add to the roll of honour! Many congratulations Bra, a thoroughly deserved win!:D
| |
Sam Prouse and so close between all the scores as well, congrats to Brad and wp all 3
Bradley Horrocks Thanks guys, a bit of luck always helps - reflected in my good share of targets ending in 0 or 00. It was great fun the whole way through, thanks Matthew for hosting.
Chris Butler Congrats Bradley, a well deserved victory! I was kicking myself earlier as I typoed to miss r18, so it's nice to know it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
| |
Gevin Chapwell As above - well done to all three of you in the final, and to Bradley for winning it. And thanks to Matthew for running it. I'll be back again next year!

Tim Down * A great achievement within the realm of online Countdown, anyway.
Matthew Tassier Great close final, and a smashing tournament from all three of you. Congratulations Bradley, great win and a tidy new record of 4001 for total tournament points (albeit with one extra round). Cheers to everyone who took part and there'll probably be another one at the start of next year, so see you all then. GOODBYE! *disturbing wink* |
Notes from the organizer: Finally we reach the twenty-third and final round which will be played this year in Hyper Nasty format against Apterous Rex. The large numbers range from the useless to the unwieldy providing a real test of calculation and focus. Rex will choose 4 large numbers which gives you plenty of options and plenty of blind alleys. Rex will obviously play a perfect game.
Let's check out the contenders:
Bradley Horrocks - Cumulative points 3841, 3 * Strongest Link, 2 max games, narrowest escape 1 point (R22), hypernasty PB 170, first entry.
Chris Butler - Cumulative points 3834, 1 * Strongest Link, 2 max games, narrowest escape 6 points (R3), hypernasty PB 197, 2016 champion.
Rahul Suresh - Cumulative points 3770, 3 * Strongest Link, 4 max games, narrowest escape 10 points (R13,R21), hypernasty PB 200, 2017 runner-up.
So, looks like it's too close to call! Bradley enters the final with the highest cumulative tournament score, Chris is a former champion and only Rahul has (twice) maxed this format in the past.
The highest scoring player in this round will be declared the 2018 champion. If there is a tie then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total cumulative score in the tournament (see notes by matches).
Good Luck to the final three!
Ran from: 4 – 11 May 2018. Format: Hyper Nasty Numbers Attack. Matches: One-off. Approved.
