Matthew Tassier A record 51 entries this year, thanks to all who're joining in with the fun. Round one sees 16 max games and a possibly overdue first ever Strongest Link performance from Tim.

Matthew Tassier After some great performances last year giving him a 12th place finish, it's a shame to lose him first round this year, but Robin you are the Weakest Link. Goodbye!
Ian Birdman Can you remind me how you determine the strongest link Matthew? When the scores are exactly the same. Is it first margin of victory and then something like speed of solves?
Robin M Thank you Matthew, gl everyone in the rest. :)
Matthew Tassier In common with the show I use an arbitrary unpublished list of tiebreakers, Ian! But you're not far off.
Ian Birdman Ok cheers :-) |
Notes from the organizer: The bots have been randomly allocated to the variants and, for a relatively east start, round one in this year's tournament will be played in Unlimited Junior format against Apterous Caesar. Targets are 11-100 and the two large numbers available in this format are 10 and 20. Caesar likes to pick 2 large, and will solve quite a few rounds. One quirk of this format is that if 20 is your target then to get your 10 points you must still do a calculation even if there is a 20 in the selection. (e.g. do 20*1 or 20+3-3 or 4*5 etc.)
Just one Weakest Link will be removed from the tournament as this is the first round. If there is a tie for lowest score then I shall allow the tied players through as it's the first round. However, any players failing to play their game within the time limit will definitely be eliminated, taking the Weakest Link spot.
Thanks all for entering!
