Dave Robjohns Not got any time to chase people up at the moment but would be grateful can try to organise remaining R1 games as soon as they can :) Adding me in an aptomail stream could result in games being awarded if your opponent doesn't reply to fix a date.
Dave Robjohns All R2 games are now in play. Deadline to complete these is 10th June!
Dave Robjohns Our quarter final line up is complete, the deadline for these is 20th June.

Dave Robjohns The inaugural cup final will be Hazel vs MSR. Both have consistently performed above their handicap, Hazel winning her three games with 12 maxes in each (her handicap was 11), while MSR has managed 6, 10, 9 & 8 (handicap 6), beating two 12-maxers from Ronan and Callum along the way.

John Beresford 5-0 is a huge lead. Sounds like a 5-vowel selection all the way for MSR. |
Notes from the organizer: The League Cup for Season 1 features players from all divisions in one single elimination bracket. Each player has a handicap equal to the ceiling (i.e. rounding up) of their total number of maxes throughout the league stage divided by the number of games they've played.
I'll have the handicaps for each player written in the notes, and will be updating results regularly in a challonge bracket in the comments.
Please note only those who've played at least half their league games have enough data to produce a fair tie break. This is 31 players currently, in yellow here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1l_AbtQ_vCCYG08LcrHsbZrBY7BR4ZtuVGgm9RGzKHqY/edit#gid=0
The entire tournament is intended to take place from the day S1 ends to the day S2 ends, so the 5 rounds will be taking place in 6.5 weeks. As a result, I will be adjudicating unplayed games in the first 2 rounds after 10 days, becoming 7 days for the quarter final onwards. This should mean we end up with a cup winner by the end of June! The S2 cup will then begin shortly afterwards, with the culmination of the S2 league stage
Tiebreaks: In the event of a tie, the winner of the conundrum goes through. If neither player gets the con, the lowest handicap (theoretically weaker player) advances. This is because The ceiling function favours stronger players as 11.6 maxes becoming 12 is a smaller step than 4.6 maxes becoming 5.
Good luck hunting those maxes!
Ran from: 17 May – 2 July 2020. Format: Maxes-only 15 Rounder. Matches: One-off. Approved.
Fixtures: 25. Completed: 25.
Key. Green: winner. Red: loser. Grey: tie. (Stripes: provisional, match in progress.)
