Dave Robjohns Event 1 of 76:
|
Notes from the organizer: Surfing is another sport set to make its debut in the Tokyo games. The basic objective is riding the wave and not falling in, so we're simulating this with a weakest link tournament - and it's live!
We'll begin with a standard 9 rounder, after which the lowest scorer faces elimination, and the strongest link chooses a different 9 round format after that until we whittle down the players and find our three medallists.
This is a LIVE event, so to enter this, simply sign-up in aptochat this evening from 6:30-7pm, before we start the tournament at 7pm. This page exists to advertise the event & to track medals after the event.
It kicks off a fantastic evening of tourneys with Andy's Wimbledon ATP tournament following at 8:30!
FUN FACT - Surfing is the only Olympic sport with a tentative timetable - it will repeatedly be rescheduled until the wave conditions are right (so perhaps fitting that we've agreed to change the schedule here...)
