Chris Hare Goodbye, everyone!
Thomas Carey GG Chris, once again the strongest player falls at final 3 :(
Matthew Tassier Dropping just one point, Thomas does enough to pip Elliott's max game and tie him on 4 Strongest Link performances.
Matthew Tassier With the lowest available max of the three games, unfortunately there was nothing Chris could have done here to avoid his fate. As top overall scorer and 11 time Strongest Link, he's been a dominant force throughout the tournament. But, it's a 3rd place finish and Chris you are the Weakest Link. Goodbye!
Chris Hare Cheers, Matthew, and thanks for organising. It's a shame I couldn't trade in a few Strongest-Link-hoods for some bonus points here... although, looking at the final (Omelette Numbers, eek) I suspect it would have been only a brief stay of execution! |
Notes from the organizer: To decide on our two finalists, round 46 will be the relatively straightforward looking challenge of a Flat 9 against Waldorf. With both players scoring each round, no 9 point bonus for 9 letter words and an opponent who's usually sluggish on conundrums, the scores are likely to be very close this round.
One lowest scoring Weakest Link will leave the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest score then total score in the tournament so far will be the deciding factor (See notes by players' names). The "more than half the players tied with lowest score means no WL" rule will only apply this round if all 3 players are tied.
