Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns I have a sneaky suspicion I forgot draws here so if it happens and you get a tiebreaker give me a shout and I'll sort the table :)

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Hi everyone, just over two weeks left here, so this is the time to start arranging your remaining games via aptomail etc please!

Fiona and Dave have both played all 12 - and everyone's played a few, so we're looking good. I think Fiona is promoted barring about 10 games going against her - so a pre-emptive congrats for that!!

Louis Ross

Louis Ross I've not been playing as much recently cos work has been so busy. I'm making an effort to try and tick off all of these games but after this season I think it's best you withdraw me from the league so I don't continue holding things up!

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson This is poised at a very exciting juncture right now...

...If, by some miracle, myself and Ben got to play our game tonight, we'll be battling for the wooden spoon... However, if Brett were to lose his game to Rachael (or if it remained unplayed), whichever one of BH/EJ had won the 'wooden spoon' match, would just barely scrape through...

Louis Ross

Louis Ross All I have is a game against Ben, but since I'll be dropping out after this season it doesn't matter anyway. Thank you for organising, but I look forward to being free of the burden of holding everyone up! Gl in the rest as they say :)

Fiona T

Fiona T Aw, sorry you're off - I've enjoyed our games!

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Appreciate the effort to get the last few done and no worries about bowing out - you're very much welcome back in future seasons if stuff changes :)

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Wait... my comment above isn't quite right. Bens games with Adam and Louis - if they get played - could change everything.

My only hope of staying in is if Ben and Brett were to lose every game they have left... (Ben has 2 and Brett has 1.)

...I shall stay riveted to this particular sports channel till all the results are in!

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson This race to the bottom is on a knife edge.

If it is within the rules for the lads to get a few days grace to finish up their games, I am all for that.

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns I can offer one day if it helps yeah, as Wednesday is basically reserved for sheets to run my stats thing - so a few games being added in late no big issue. Thursday however will be the start of the new season. So yeah - Ben vs Adam & Louis and Brett vs Rachael have an extra day :)

We can at least confirm stuff now at the other end, and it's congratulations to Fiona, who wins D3 for a third time, and a fourth promotion back into D2! Sean will be taking the other slot in D2, his own third promotion - obviously experience helps in the key promotion 6-pointers! Barry misses out on points difference, just falling short of a first venture into D2.

Fiona T

Fiona T well there's worse ways of earning the name 'ping pong' :D

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Unfortunately no games played today so it's as we were yesterday - a nail-biting draw on the final day between Eoin and Ben nearly enough to save both players, but with no further games played today, Eoin takes 11th on points difference, sending Ben and Brett down to D4 - hard luck chaps! A very competitive division, there haven't been many times before where 7 points wasn't enough!

Thanks all for playing, and best of luck for season 12 :)

Dave Robjohns

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson "All-time top player"
is that based on points or percentage?

If it's on points, it may be more a measure of "has been in D3 more times than most... and done pretty well while there".

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Yeah, just refers to being top of the D3 All time table (points) on this sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dNZsosNG9_YBsfbI7nJNYA1jH9veV1ZI_SuQQRO-AMI/edit#gid=354181659

Although I guess Fiona's also top by virtue of winning the division 3 times!

Fwiw, percentage wise, it's Paul Nixon (1 season, 6 games, 6 wins), or Sean (22 wins from 29 games) if you limit it to those with multiple seasons :)

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson I think the Sean version is the most meaningful of those stats.

I believe my S11 crucials lost stat equals Oliver Garner's record!

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Ah good spot, hadn't noticed that one - in fact, with 2 crucials won as well, that's also the first time someone's played 9 crucials in a season! (8 has happened once before, J E in Season 7).

Clearly a very even division overall, since there were actually 35 crucials from the 74 games, which is the most ever! (5th highest if we go by percentage)

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Cool! In this case, I think percentage is a less meaningful stat, esp if the one with the higher percentage was from a significantly smaller sample size.

Tourney round: AptoLeague: S11 Division 3

<< S11 Division 2 | S11 Division 4 >>

Notes from the organizer: 13 players in a large division here, and as is often the case with D3, it has the smallest spread - so anyone's guess who will do well this season. Rachael joins in in D3.

Good luck to all!
