Eoin Jackson Nooooo! Not another Speed round... 😥
Chris Hare I'll get my coat.
Chris Butler Can you grab mine while you're there?
Gevin Chapwell I'm stubbornly leaving my coat where it is.
Eoin Jackson With 12 people left to play this, incl. those who were almost weakest links in previous rounds, I reckon you are in no danger of needing warm clothing.
Gevin Chapwell It's looking a bit better now but when I posted Jamie hadn't played and I was next in line after the Chrises.
Thomas Carey thanks for hosting! probably shouldn't have done it while multitasking :)
Jason Turner Speed rounds always my Achilles Heel. :(
Michael Oldham My tourney game isn't in my list of games, is it not automatic?
Matthew Tassier Don't worry everyone, we found it :)
Alan O'Sullivan Phew! I scraped through again! Hypernasty is next though.........
Michael Oldham I messed up and a misclick cost me this one, one person left to attempt, my only chance to scrape through! Good luck Barry
Barry Evans Vul Michael - I only found out I was through to this round today so you almost had it!

Michael Oldham Ahhhh noooo, shame to lose to a misclick, but i'm sure that's happened to many people so far in this tournament and not misclicking is also a skill in itself! good luck to everyone still in, was good fun trying some different variants.
Eoin Jackson (This ended 2 days ago...)
| |
Matthew Tassier I think my job's safe.
| |
Matthew Tassier Despite their fears, the Chris's survive by 1 and 3 points at the unfortunate expense of Michael who matches the highest scoring Speed exit. Amongst the other departures, we also lose last years finalist and 2017 champion Thomas and speed-phobes Jason and Eoin. So, Michael, Eoin, Thomas and Jason you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye!
Eoin Jackson Your job is safe as houses!

Notes from the organizer: It's time to pick up the pace once more as round sixteen will be a Speed Numbers Attack against Apterous Prime. Prime is pretty inconsistent here in the sharp 10 second rounds and picks the ticklish 3 large numbers.
Some stats for this round:
Expected competitors : 32
Weakest Links required : 4
Most WL Speed max games : 1 - Chris Butler
Highest average WL Speed score : Elliott Mellor 186.25 (4 games)
Highest scoring Speed Weakest Link : 134 - Elizabeth Beer (2020)
For more stats see spreadsheet linked below.
FOUR lowest scoring Weakest Links will be removed from the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
Tournament progress can be followed here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pqAQJDitytZj8B10sNHwKs6ZF7LPqH9qcx0cHYoCpgM/edit?usp=sharing
Good luck!
