Andy SC NOTE:. Meant to put 30th September as the closing date for Sign-ups
Martin Hurst I think we should all have wrestling names. Hopefully The Macho Man Harry Savage will enter.
Andy SC Yeah there's an idea people could pick wrestlers to be or have a name for themselves
Fiona T Can you clarify the rules where there are unplayed games? I know that caused some confusion last time but can't remember what the issue was!
Andy SC @Fiona - Last year because of an unplayed game, I allowed all others to l advance. So I shall do the same again
Dave Kempshall Hi Andy - I didn't take part last year. Is it only one person out per round or does any scoring below the 25% threshold get eliminated?
Andy SC @Dave - anyone below the 25% threshold gets eliminated
Stu Harkness The Big Show comes in and clears house.
Andy SC One week left to sign-up
Stu Harkness I reckon you send in two folk at once!
Andy SC That is something that crossed my mind but then it won't feel like an authentic Royal Rumble. I was thinking of allowing 2 days per round, some rounds will be completed well within the day and others won't be.
Stu Harkness It could rumble on otherwise...
Andy SC That was certainly a concern when I opened it up to unlimited Sign-ups. I would open that people do play their games right away when they become available. Feels like one of those things that we would have to wait and see what happens.
Stu Harkness *rumble* on
Andy SC However, if we got like to 100 participants then I probably would go to 2 per round
Andy SC Another thing that I thought could be done is doing a full draw of entry order so people know roughly when they will be in the tournament.
Martin Hurst In order to make it feel like a real a Royal Rumble, I'm going to play each round wearing just my pants.
Andy SC Due to the number of Sign-ups, I'm going to close Sign-ups on Friday after the completion of the ATP Tournament and do a full draw of the entry order in Apto chat. This is so people can get a rough idea when they will be entering.

Andy SC What option would people prefer:
Andy SC Option A - Now that its at 30 people having entered, up it to two entries per round
Andy SC Option B - Keep it at 1 entry per round for a bit yet.
Matthew Tassier I like the sheer lunacy of the 74 rounds to get everyone involved. However if Option A is better for the sanity of the tournament organizer then it should be implemented!
Andy SC I'm quite enjoying the lunacy but wanted to see what people thought. |
Notes from the organizer: ITS NOW TIME FOR THE APTEROUS ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH!!!
After last year's edition went down rather well, it's time for it to make a return for 2022.
This year there will be an unlimited number of players. Two players will start in Round 1 of the tournament and play a 15-rounder against Prune. Then each round after that a new player will enter the fray. To remain in the tournament you must score within 25% of the highest scoring playernfor that round. For example if the highest scoring player is 100 then all other players would have to score 75 points or more. The round after the final player has entered will result in the scoring threshold going down by 1% each round until a winner is crowned.
Can Johnny Canuck claim glory again? Can Dave Robjohns exact revenge and be the last player standing? Can somebody go all the way from #1 and win? Join in the fun to find out
