Martin Long And now I wait...
Adam Latchford with you there martin... this has been the first variant for ages i actually enjoy so is inevitable its the one i'll crash and burn on
Martin Long You've done extremely well considering you don't enjoy most of the variants. :-)
Adam Latchford Waiting for the curveball finnish letters attack variant in this numbers tournament
Martin Long You can usually get a clue what the next variant is going to be from what game Matthew has been playing recently and has last few games have been Spoilage NA. Good luck!
George Armstrong It's Matthew, he plays Spoilage NAs all the time. For some reason he thinks it's fun...
Martin Long They are fun. A quick look at the variants indicates we have Nasty, Hyper Nasty, Bullet and Spoilage left. Anything I'm missing?
George Armstrong Yeah those 4 plus Omelette
Chris Butler Too many strong Spoilage players left for my liking, therefore I'm hoping it comes up sooner rather than later!
Mike Lee Another new PB for Velvet. The bots really enjoy playing me in this tourney :(
| |
Adam Dexter Boys to Men in my head after that - ah well. Thanks Matthew, great tourney and pleased to have got this far! Will see you next time
Anthony Endsor I think I may finally have met my gruesome end here as well.
Dan Byrom I've been too scared to play this but I'm running out of time eep

Ben H I reckon you should leave it until the 14th, Dan!
Matthew Tassier Chris H gets his 2nd Strongest Link title with a cracking max game as he approaches an unlikely place on the most multitalented numberists table.
Matthew Tassier With 10 of the 17 players either in or no more than 10 points clear of the elimination zone, margins were tight this round. Dan and Martin maxed their last few rounds to survive on points difference ahead of Ben, with Anthony and Adam D. just a solve away from possible safety. So Ben, Anthony and Adam you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye!
Ben H Thanks for organising, Matthew. Great fun as always
Anthony Endsor Thanks for organising this again Matthew. I look forward to playing again in the future. |
Notes from the organizer: Round 19 this year is the rather crazy one-second-per-round Berserk numbers attack format. Velvet will be your opponent for this round, picking 2 large and mostly failing to score. Make sure you are ready with CTRL + Space or clicking the target to get a declaration in within the one second of the round. In theory It is possible to change your declaration with CTRL + UP or CTRL + DOWN if one second is plenty of time for you to make the decision to do so!
Some stats for this round:
Expected competitors: 17
Weakest Links required: 3
Historic average score: 153.91
Highest score: 200 - Marcus Hares, Dave Robjohns, Elliott Mellor
Highest average score (3+ games): 180 - Elliott Mellor (4 games)
Highest scoring Weakest Link : 140 - Neil Collins (2019) & Sean Fletcher (2018)
For more stats see spreadsheet linked below.
THREE lowest scoring Weakest Links will be removed from the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
