Elizabeth Beer Don’t really get the table, all the leagues have gold, silver , bronze equalling “winning” so presumably promotion, but only two relegation spots. Now it is fine by me to be offering bone tide players promotion over new players “slotting in”, such that legitimately promotion places>relegation, but that is not how 5his has usually been played out…. Is the bronze place redundant as far as promotion is concerned?
Dave Robjohns Basically I edited the premier league table to account for the rule change (minus points for unplayed games) and the gold/silver/bronze was accidentally copied across into all 6 leagues as a result.
| |
Elizabeth Beer Lol, getting bronze in stupid 5 counts for nowt (as I suspected)
Dave Robjohns Yeah with all the divisions having 14 I wanted to make it uniform and felt 3 promotion 3 relegation might be a bit much - but might change that next season to give more scope for movement especially in say D4-6
Elizabeth Beer Three seemed fine this last season, and like I say bone fide players don’t like being kept down such that new players can “slot in”
Dave Robjohns Thanks for the feedback, I agree it worked now the divisions are quite large so I'll switch to three in all bar top two divisions
| |
Elizabeth Beer I didn’t say that that Callum should be in div 6, but you know full well tha5 others do get a pretty free pas
Elizabeth Beer (That could start in 5 or 6 easily ge5 free pass to 4)
Dave Robjohns I honestly do/did think the placements are always reasonably fair so genuinely wasn't aware you and possibly others felt hard done by at times. Find a lot of new players excel in their first few seasons so was more wondering if they were being placed too low sometimes!
Andy SC @Dave - I do remember you saying a while ago that anybody new or returning would not go straight into the Premier League because I think you said that would be unfair. I was wandering how come that has changed this season?
Dave Robjohns Yeah it’s in the league rules, but only for new players. Callum’s returning and his rating & league record warranted PL, same with Ahmed last season
Chris Hare Callum's something of an extreme case in that he hasn't played for eleven seasons. Plonking him straight into the PL was probably a mistake.
| |
Dave Robjohns Meh, personally quite happy with how it is right now
Bailey Cowell I’m up for games anytime between 1600 and 1730 weekdays - any convenient dates you can map to mail me and we can scheduler games :-)
Bailey Cowell Can the points system be explained please - people seem to be on minus points if thy lose games, whereas previously it was 0 for a loss.
Dave Robjohns As voted on its

Elizabeth Beer The “raw” score is incorrect for Michael in the spreadsheet
Dave Robjohns Seems fine now so no idea what that was!
Dave Robjohns ...and broken now. Puzzling. Hovering the formula even tells me the correct answer! Just not displaying said answer. I'll try a few bits and we'll see what works
Dave Robjohns Hello! 2 weeks to go :)
Dave Robjohns Reminder that the deadline is tonight. 18 games to go, getting a few more in would be great!

Mark O'Regan Michael, Jacob - haven’t caught ye yet for our relegation 6 pointers. Drop me a mail if you’re online and I should be able to come on to get it played!
Dave Robjohns Three players finished D5 on 9 wins but the title goes to Rob courtesy of games played - stunning seasons nonetheless from Jason and MSR who will also head up to D4.
| |
Andy SC Glad I managed to pull 4 wins out of the bag after 8 straight loses :)
Mark O'Regan Cheers for organising as always Dave!
| |
Jason Turner Thanks for organising Dave. always great to play. |
Notes from the organizer: Oliver, Piaras and Bailey all return to the league after various lengths of absence and slot into D5.
