Tal Lessner

Tal Lessner Should there be less than 64 players, I understand there will be fewer groups (according to the description), will going forward still have about 50% advancing in each stage, or in the direction of having a final 8?

Also, what are the points structure and tiebreaks?

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier It will be heading towards a final 8, with maybe more than 50% advancing from groups in the early stages.
I plan to do 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss, 0 for failing to play a game. Points difference will be the primary tiebreaker.

Martin Long This looks like a great idea, unfortunately I won't have the time to play in it.

I would actually argue that Bullet is harder than Instant especially for 6S.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Arguably so, but I think it makes more sense/flows better with Instant as the final round.

Martin Long ^Agreed.

Tourney round: Double Elimination Numbers Tourney: Sign-Up Page

Round 1 - Group A >>

Notes from the organizer: Welcome to the D.E.N.T.

In this tournament players will be put into groups of approximately 8 where they will play each other in a numbers attack with the top 4 players progressing to the next round. As this is a double elimination event, the first time a player fails to finish in the top 4 they will move into the repercharge part of the event, where, if they keep progressing, they can still reach the final group and even win the tournament.

There will be 5 rounds to the tournament in formats getting gradually more challenging, so you will need to progress from groups in each of Normal, Touchdown, Speed and Bullet in order to take part in the Instant final.

As an illustration the tournament spreadsheet shows the potential structure of the tournament based on an ideal 64 entrants: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EZFHUDY-PVc2Kj2IJCXZkFXSIeAeLd1X5IsynWqXZtg/edit?usp=sharing As there will probably be less entrants than that, early rounds will likely feature some smaller groups.

Each round will take place over 3 or 4 weeks which should give you plenty of time to find and play your opponents.
