Matthew Brockwell

Matthew Brockwell Who opens the bidding for each game?

Martin Thomas

Martin Thomas Either player can bid on any game whenever they want.

Stephen Elsley

Stephen Elsley Are the games normal 15 rounders, or will there be different variants please?

Martin Thomas

Martin Thomas There will be a lot of different variants.

Fiona T

Fiona T So basically the idea is to win the game by bidding less points than you hope to score?

Martin Thomas

Martin Thomas The match will be decided by total profit/loss. You can improve this by scoring more than you bid or pushing your opponent into bidding more than they will score.

It will be possible to win with an overall loss.

Martin Thomas Would anyone like a practice game of this?

Stephen Elsley

Stephen Elsley Thank you Martin. This one's not for me then.

Martin Thomas

Martin Thomas Sign-ups will close at 9pm today.

Ian Volante

Ian Volante What if no-one bids on a game, are we not allowed to play it?

Martin Thomas

Martin Thomas You can make bids for all the games.

If no-one wants to bid for a game then neither of you will play it.

If there is bidding for a game then only the one who bids higher will be able to play it.

Practice - Lockdown Jnr 15 >>

Notes from the organizer: This is a knock-out tournament in which you will bid against your opponent to buy various games. All games will be against Prune. There will be five games in the first round and this may increase in later rounds. Each game will be bid on as a separate lot.

Bids will be made in points and you will have an unlimited number of them to bid with. Whoever bids more for a game will pay that many points for it. They can then play the game and get back as many points as they score. Whoever makes the bigger total profit (or smaller total loss) will go through to the next round. If there is a tie then whoever played more games will go through.

If your bid is beaten you can bid again. All bids must be higher than the last bid and for a whole number of points. Be careful because once a bid is made you can not change it or cancel it.

I will not give a deadline for bids but if there is no activity on a lot for a while then I will give a warning that it is closing soon.

If you have any other questions then please ask.
