Adam Latchford

Adam Latchford Previous high score 169 and 169 vs my 84? Thanks for running a great tournament tass 😁

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier And that's the end of 2023's tournament, just beating the end of the year! Finishing in 3rd place after a great run through the tournament and undoubtedly a far stronger numbers player now than when he finished 61st two years ago, it's Adam. And in second place, posting the highest raw score here and repeating not just his finishing position of 2 years ago but also exactly matching his tournament cumulative points total, it's Dave. Really well played through this year's marathon to both of you and a big thank you to everyone else who took part in this year's ultra-competitive edition.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier But, with a great start to his game, and managing to find the 6 perfect solves that pulled him clear of his rivals against an 18-max Prime performance, it's time to crown this year's very deserving Weakest Link Numbers champion! Congratulations Sam, you are this year's Strongest Link. GOODBYE! *disturbing wink*

Tourney round: Weakest Link Numbers Tournament 2023: Round 24 - Spoilage

<< Round 23 - Octolock

Notes from the organizer: This year's 24th and final round will be played in the notorious Spoilage format against Apterous Prime. Spoilage is the ultimate apterous test of arithmetic, time management, decision making and focus. Prime will choose 4 large numbers and is very strong, maxing most rounds, but probably making the occasional lapse that could be taken advantage of.

Let's check out the contenders:
Sam Cappleman-Lynes - Cumulative Points 4126, 4 times Strongest Link, 8 max games, narrowest escape 1 point (R21), Spoilage PB 169, 1st final appearance, 5th place 2021.
Dave Robjohns - Cumulative Points 4072, 2 times Strongest Link, 8 max games, narrowest escape 0 points (R23), Spoilage PB 169, 2nd final appearance, 2nd place 2021.
Adam Latchford - Cumulative Points 3869, 1 time Strongest Link, 2 max games, narrowest escape 3 points (R12,R23), Spoilage PB 84, 1st final appearance, 10th place 2022.
With Sam and Dave sitting level 3rd in the Spoilage high score table and having pretty similar records all round, maybe we have joint favourites here, but we've seen an underdog have his day in previous finals so Adam should definitely not be overlooked.

The highest scoring player in this round will be declared the 2023 champion. If there is a tie then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total cumulative score in the tournament (see notes by matches below).
