Notes from the organizer: A tournament where people compete in teams of two in a group stage and then knockout stages.

Teams are decided by the highest rated player being paired with the lowest, 2nd highest with 2nd lowest… and so on.

They then play matches against each other with their two scores added together making up their team’s total score. The higher rated player always plays their leg of the tie against their opponents higher rated player and the lower versus the lower. It’s basically a two legged battle for each match.

I’m going to limit the entries to 32, so we will have 16 teams in four group of four teams. All matches are played over a standard 9 rounder and I will schedule this over relatively long period of time to give people a chance to get their games played.

Example match:

Team A - Player A 54 v 62 Team B - Player A
Team A - Player B 52 v 39 Team B - Player B
Team A 106 v Team B 101 - Team A wins the match.

Groups will be played with 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for defeat. Top 2 from each group advance to the Quarter Finals.
