Notes from the organizer: We’ve got our eight! It’s just three games for them — whoever wins them all will reach the final, but if they lose just one, they’ll drop into the Lower Bracket.
The whole thing is seeded — 1/8, 4/5, 3/6, 2/7, just like on the telly.
Our h(opefully gr)ateful 8 are sorted first by group position, so our three group winners are:
1. Tal Lessner (12 pts) who is the only player to go 6 out of 6
2. Adam Latchford (11 pts) who was given a real run for his money; 5 of his games went down to the last three rounds
3. Trevor Potts (10 pts) who has an average of 162 points per game, the highest in the tourney
In the second places:
4. Elizabeth Beer (10 pts) who holds the tourney high score of 180
5. Anthony Endsor (7 pts) whose predilection for 4 large ended up setting him apart from a very tight race for second
6. Perry Sarb (7 pts) who managed to record three draws (I'm noticing a theme here meself)
And finally, the best two players in third:
7. Wesley Barton (8 pts) who held on for the entire second half to clinch 10-point wins on two occasions
8. Thomas Carey (7 pts) who doesn't need 6 games to make the knockouts, he can do it in 4 ;)
Missing out on 9th place by just half a point is Meredie Cohen, who enters down below instead.
The dates next to the games are, of course, their deadlines, but I’m willing to allow some short extensions.
