Notes from the organizer: We’ve got our eight! It’s just three games for them — whoever wins them all will reach the final, but if they lose just one, they’ll drop into the Lower Bracket.
The whole thing is seeded — 1/8, 4/5, 3/6, 2/7, just like on the telly.
The 20 conundrum entrants allowed for four groups, which made things a lot simpler. Our four group winners are:
1. Trevor Potts (8 pts, 680 for, 0 agst) whose record speaks for itself
2. Thomas Carey (8 pts, 590 for, 50 agst) who accounts for 62% of all the solved conundrums in Group B
3. Adam Latchford (8 pts, 440 for, 140 agst) who ignored the website's mid-game taunting in game 1 to run away with maximum points from then on
4. Meredie Cohen (7 pts) whose 130 in her last group game serves as a fierce warning
There's only so much a man can write when every game plays out the same way with much less input from the player, and I'm sure you just want me to hurry up and put the tourney pages up, so here's the four people that came in second place:
5. Dave Kempshall (6.5 pts)
6. Ross K (6 pts, 300 for, 200 agst)
7. Adam Dexter (6 pts, 160 for, 190 agst)
8. Ian Volante (4.5 pts)
The dates next to the games are, of course, their deadlines, but I’m willing to allow some short extensions.
