Chris Butler Ouch, lost my head twice there. Now to play the waiting game
Chris Butler It looks like the next round is going to start without any players, which would be a first. Must be a busy time of year!
Elliott Mellor Yeah, gonna hold off a bit before playing mine. I like to see what I have to achieve to get through as it seems to help me.
Gevin Chapwell It's not just this round. This tournament seems to have ground to a halt generally. The unplayed games in the previous rounds have been that way for a long time.
Elliott Mellor I know I had the 2 previous rounds on the back burner for a while, but I have played them both well within the deadline. However it does appear that the rounds seem to be having exponentially less games in them at any time.
Chris Butler To be honest, tt's not really important, it's the final day deadline that is the important one and that will soon sweep up the deadwood.
| |
Ben Andrews Honestly I'm just scared to play this, haha
Elliott Mellor Same lol
Gevin Chapwell I'm really happy I already have! *smug mode* (No doubt I'll crash out in the next round now.)
Gevin Chapwell Looks like you were right Chris. Octorock is up, but with no players!
Elliott Mellor I'm surprised octorock is after stuff like bullet hyper. I would have thought octorock was probably easier.
Matthew Tassier By the system I've used they are roughly comparable due to Caeser being the opponent here and Rex in the octorock. If the opponent was the same then bullet hyper would indeed be after octorock.
Chris Butler Yeah Octo has moved back from R16 last year to 19 and Hyper Bullet moved forward from R21 to 18, both I presume due to a combination of luck of the draw and bot. Biggest mover seems to be Octolock, which was R10 last year and is still yet to feature this year!
Zarte Siempre There, now Gevin can go through and you can all stop commenting about no-one playing.
Gevin Chapwell Thanks, Zarte!
Sean Fletcher and Zarte can join you, Gevin.
Ben Andrews Phew! I was expecting that to be really tough but it turned out okay.
Matthew Tassier Please disregard Sean's 160, that game is being replayed.
Zarte Siempre How come? What's wrong with it?
Matthew Tassier Due to extreme disconnection issues, Sean offered to replay his game for transparency.
Zarte Siempre I see, OK.
Elliott Mellor I hope 140 might just about see me through.....
Elliott Mellor Just gotta play the waiting game...
Gevin Chapwell You've put Chris Butler through on a tie-break.
Chris Butler Phew, I was beginning to get scared such was the high standard. Good luck to those still in the fight
James Laverty Might as well crash out in style....
Matthew Tassier Gev's impressive effort pipped at the last by Rahul's cracking max game for Strongest Link this round.
Matthew Tassier With one going out in style and the other extremely unlucky to get the worst of a 4-way tie we lose two players who can be pleased with big improvements on their 2016 positions. James and Phil, you are the Weakest Links, Goodbye!

Chris Butler You know it's a high standard when the 2nd best game in the round wins Game Of The Week!
Phil Collinge Cheers Matthew. Looking forward to the next one (assuming that there is one!)
James Laverty Cheers Matt. Completely underperformed last year so feel I've redeemed myself a bit
Matthew Tassier Nice one guys. Next year's is pencilled in the diary!
Gevin Chapwell I think Phil was really unlucky there. Especially after getting 12 of the first 13. |
Notes from the organizer: Unlucky for some, round eighteen sees the final 13 playing a Bullet game in Hyper format against Apterous Caesar. Caesar will choose just 2 large numbers and may well fail to trouble the scorers.
The two lowest scoring players in this round will leave the tournament. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
Good luck!
Ran from: 10 – 23 March 2017. Format: Bullet Hyper Numbers Attack. Matches: One-off. Approved.

Key. Green: winner. Red: loser. Grey: tie. (Stripes: provisional, match in progress.)
