Chris Butler This is going to chaotic. I've done 2 practise rounds, one with a nice max of 154 and one with a measly 116! I don't think anyone is safe since a score of 100 is far from guaranteed! Good luck all (except Rex)!
Matthew Tassier Certainly will be!
| |
Elliott Mellor Yeah, it's all about luck in this round I guess. Be interesting to see who gets eliminated, there could be a few surprises.
Zarte Siempre Well, there's your benchmark. Not sure if it's high or low, but I couldn't have done much better.
Gevin Chapwell After a few practice games yesterday, I decided that if I made triple figures I'd be happy. I think your score is very good.
Zarte Siempre I hope you're right, then! :)
Gevin Chapwell Really happy with my score.
Zarte Siempre Well, if I'm gone, you're gone too, now.
Chris Butler Apterous Rex is a dick isn't he
Gevin Chapwell Yes. I had a fairly decent max in my game though.
Gevin Chapwell I'm surprised Sean hasn't yet dropped into this round.
Gevin Chapwell Actually it probably isn't automatic but Matthew's been so efficient that it's always appeared that way.
Matthew Tassier Thanks Gev! It is indeed a manual process.
Ben Andrews Wow, I played really, really badly there. That's probably the end.
Gevin Chapwell Unlucky, but it's not necessarily the end. It's a tough format, and I was lucky that my best game came in the one that counted. Not all my practice games were over 89!
Elliott Mellor Couldn't really have asked for a much nicer game there.

Ben Andrews Thanks for organising Matthew, very good tourney, will definitely be playing again next year. Good luck guys :)
Johnny Canuck Yep, that's me gone as well -- should have picked 2 large every time, but still probably would have been massacred. Very impressed on making it to this stage in an all-numbers tourney, and thanks as ever for organising. Hope to see you all again for the 2018 edition.
Matthew Tassier Thanks both, great to have you in the tournament.
Matthew Tassier A massive score, even allowing for the extremely high max in his game sees Thomas Cappleman become the Strongest Link for the third time in the tournament.
Matthew Tassier And in a bit of a surprise this awkward round sees the end of the player who came into this round as the leader on cumulative score. Ben and Johnny you are the Weakest Links, Goodbye! |
Notes from the organizer: Round nineteen will be in Octorock format played against Apterous Rex. Large numbers are 10 and 20 and Rex unhelpfully tends to pick either 5 small or 1 large and, of course, maxes everything. In this round, more than any previously, you will be a host to fortune as to the max in your game and may well be presented with impossible rounds. Whinge if you like, but this is all part of the game!
The two lowest scoring players in this round will leave the tournament. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
Good luck!
