Notes from the organizer: On we go. We move on to the quarter-finals and now, we need to do some admin.

Thomas Carey vs Matt The Critic is a slam dunk - Matt hasn't replied to any Aptomails either 'Maus or I have sent, so that's a bye for 'Maus.

Sean Fletcher vs Bradley Horrocks is more difficult. They said they started the match, but then got halted when Apterous crashed. I've allowed them to play a replay, but I've wanted this done within a couple of days. In the meantime, they will be in the draw as "Sean Fletcher or Bradley Horrocks" and will get ball number 8. For this reason, I've allowed 2 weeks for the quarter finals to be played, whereas I was initially intending this to be one week.

As for the rest of Round 3, that brilliant game between holder Luke Johnson-Davies and highest-ranked player Callum Todd is a (technical) upset even though the holder progresses. https://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=2419761 Other upsets were Tracey Mills - ranked 18th when the competition started - knocking out #5 "seed" (I say "seed" as it's a random draw) James Haughton, James Robinson knocking out 8th-ranked Ronan M Higginson, and Robin M knocking out Reg Thompson, who was ranked 7th. Tracey is therefore the lowest-ranked player remaining in the competition.
