Martin Long So the next round will be Nasty numbers against Rex then? lol
Matthew Tassier Nope :)
Dan Byrom I know this is so cliche by this point but can't help pointing out how practice scores of 170,170,170,180 converted into a final run of 150 D:
| |
George Armstrong I'll join you in the long wait club. A single practice attempt of 190 followed by 140... Still, anything to avoid the embarrassment that'd be my spoilage attempt I guess... :D
Florence C-L "Remember that scoring is stepdown" - very useful in a round against Rex !!
Matthew Tassier Ah yes, very good point. You needn't remember that.
Chris Butler resuming that Rex plays true and fair and doesn't take advantage of "dead ends", has anyone ever managed to beat Rex at omelette numbers? Or even just take a round off him?

Matthew Tassier I'm pretty sure that Rex doesn't feel he is constrained to play true and fair, though at the moment I can't find an example of him using a dead end.
Matthew Tassier Dave managed three quarters of a max game, but in the end the final 5 players are decided with Florence leading the way as the Strongest Link.
Matthew Tassier Sam edges through at the expense of Dan based on total tournament points, with George also falling just 1 solve short. So George finishes in the top 10 for the first time in 7th place, improving his finish every year in this tournament. And Dan has his first top 20 finish with an excellent 6th place. But, Dan and George, you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye!
George Armstrong Cheers Tass, was chuffed not to go out yet again on Bullet Hyper so anything beyond that I count as a win :D . Plus no Spoilage so double win! Great tourney as always, gl to the final 5 <3
Dan Byrom Really enjoyed it - thanks for organising! Good luck to the remaining players :) |
Notes from the organizer: For the lucky final 7, round twenty-two will be played in Omelette format against Apterous Rex. Make sure you use all 6 numbers in your solution and bear in mind that the rules allow you to use up some of the numbers in "dead ends". Rex will pick 4 large numbers to really test out your omelette skills. Remember that scoring is stepdown (e.g. 1 away typically scores 9 points etc.)
Some stats for this round:
Expected competitors: 7
Weakest Links required: 2
Highest score: 200 - Bradley Horrocks
Most Omelette Strongest Links: 2 - Bradley Horrocks & Tom Cappleman
Highest scoring Omelette Weakest Link: 169 - Chris Butler (2021) & Sam Cappleman-Lynes (2020)
Lowest scoring Omelette survivor: 110 - Robin M (2018)
For more stats see spreadsheet linked below.
TWO lowest scoring Weakest Links will be removed from the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest scores then the tiebreaker will be total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
