Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns 5 practice games, scored on average 72% of my raw score

Real game, Velv ups his game, quashes most of my 8/9 pointers and pushes that down to 50% :(

Sam Cappleman-Lynes A new highest-scoring weakest link (by some distance) and all but one entrant scoring higher than the winning score the last time Velvet turned up for the Spoilage round - the standard is high!

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Thanks for hosting Matthew, been fantastic fun as always :) Tremendous scoring here from everyone and I was well short, but already clung on longer than I thought I would this year. Best of luck to the final three, looking forward to seeing what nasty surprise is in store!

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier High standard all round in this trickiest of tasks, and despite Florence having the lowest Spoilage high score of the 5, she comes out as the Strongest Link here in the penultimate round. Top tournament points scorer Elliott and reigning champ Edward follow closely into the grand final.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Despite appearing to be a long way short, Dave's raw 84 points would have put him right in the mix if Velvet had been kinder. But Dave follows up his 2nd place last year with a very creditable 5th place this time round. And in 4th place, overtaken by Edward in the final round, it's well played to Sam, improving on his previous best of 9th place. But, Sam and Dave you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye!

Sam Shepherd

Sam Shepherd Thanks for another great edition of this tournament Matthew! And well done to the top three, I'm expecting a tight battle between them in the final round.

Tourney round: Weakest Link Numbers Tournament 2022: Round 23 - Spoilage

<< Round 22 - Omelette | Round 24 - Nasty >>

Notes from the organizer: This year's 23rd and penultimate round will be played in the notorious Spoilage format against Apterous Velvet. Spoilage is the ultimate apterous test of arithmetic, time management, decision making and focus. Velvet will choose 4 large numbers and is pretty strong, so she will undoubtedly foil some great close declarations with perfect solves.

Some stats for this round:
Expected competitors: 5
Weakest Links required: 2
Highest Spoilage WL score: 97 - Elliott Mellor (2020)
Previous rounds vs this bot: 2017 Round 23 ( https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=1923 )
Highest scoring Weakest Link: 60 - Dave Robjohns (2021)
Lowest scoring survivor: 19 - Chris Butler (2018)
For more stats see spreadsheet linked below.

TWO lowest scoring Weakest Links will be removed from the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
