Dave Kempshall

Dave Kempshall We have our 32 entrants, so I've drawn the teams (see link for who you're representing). I'll probably get the group stage started a few days early to keep us on schedule.

Dave Kempshall I'll get the group stage fixtures up tomorrow (giving us an extra week for those), and will delete friendlies at that point to avoid confusion. Get them played today if you want a warm up.

Tourney round: 2023 Women's World Cup: Sign-ups

Group Stage >>

Notes from the organizer: After last year’s men’s version in Qatar was won by Croatia (Ronan) we are jumping back into the festival that is the biggest tournament in women’s football.

63 games, 32 nations, 5 rounds and 1 eventual champion.

Australia and New Zealand play host to a star-studded month of football. We’ll try and follow the real schedule so active players are encouraged (although you will only play a maximum of 7 games across the month, so not too hectic).

As with the men’s event (and George’s Premier League tournament for those who are familiar), all games will be played in Champions League format with a goal scored if you win a round, with a max (numbers rounds will be deemed max if you score the maximum points available, so if the target is 559 and the closest possible solve is 558 - you will score a goal if you win the round with a solve within 5 either side).

Knockout rounds will be decided by a) whoever wins the match as Apterous deems it to have been won b) a 5-Rounder ‘penalty shootout’ to be arranged by me.

No time for qualifiers, so the first 32 to enter will compete. Players will be allocated a country to represent based (loosely) on their rating and the real-life FIFA Women’s World Rankings.
