Florence C-L "If this tournament ever returns, you can expect this round to come back with a different lexicon, so if anyone wants to spend a year learning the intersection between German and English, that might not be a complete waste of time. On the other hand, it might be a complete waste of time."

Did anyone take Chris's advice here?

Stu Harkness

Stu Harkness Did he say that last year?

Chris Hare

Chris Hare I did. You can't say I didn't warn you...

Dave Kempshall Sadly, I thought Chris was double-bluffing and spent the entire year trying to learn the Russian / English intersections. A fruitless 2023 comes to an end.

Tourney round: The Twelve Games of Chris-mas: Vol. II: The Re-Chris-ening: Game Ten

<< Game Nine | Game Eleven >>

Notes from the organizer: Achtung! Dictionary change ahead. Please keep your limbs inside the vehicle at all times and have your passports ready for inspection.

Game Ten is a German Letters Attack. Your score for the game is the sum of all the points you achieve in the game by declaring valid words that are also in the Apterous English lexicon. The player with the highest such score wins. Ties will be broken by giving preference to the player who scores in this way in the most rounds, then the player whose words are, in my subjective opinion, most surprisingly German. Any further ties will be resolved at my sole discretion.

The BONUS TOURNAMENT POINT will be awarded to any player who achieves a maximum in any round, whether that word is in the English lexicon or not.

If you have any questions about the rules, scoring, or anything else pertaining to this tourney, please feel free to ask.
