R Choudhary Played BASHED by mistake, yet it still counted.
Trevor Potts Hey R, the apterous game system isn't aware of the weird and wonderful rules of this tournaments so it will just allocate you whatever points you would score normally.
| |
Dave Kempshall Hi R - yes, what Trevor said is accurate. I've not counted bashed on you score on the spreadsheet. Trevor, thanks for the offer, but it really doesn't take long to tot up scores. A couple of upcoming rounds might do, but I've set aside time to do it.
Florence C-L Hi Dave, I think I should have 182 points for my game, not 175
Dave Kempshall Sorry Florence, you're right. I missed double BALLOON :) corrected. |
Notes from the organizer: Most people have got both Round 1 & 2 played so we move on to R3. Our defending champion - Tass - is one of those who’s yet to get started, so the leaderboard may change, but currently stands at:
1. Matthew Brockwell - 270
2. Florence C-L - 267
3. Tom Cappleman - 253
4. David Holmes - 247
5. Roger Peak - 228
Full leaderboard can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rrnBp8HEPf_j9e5d0gNVPsHP4iI324_b/edit?gid=251771468#gid=251771468&range=A1:J1
We move to something a little different this time - and the focus is consecutive repeated letters. It’s also an upgrade in format to a Hypertouch Letter Attack.
The aim of this round is to declare words containing consecutive repeated letters. In any round where you declare a word using these, your score for that round counts towards your total and that don't... won't, so if you fail to declare a double letter word, that round counts for nothing.
IMPORTANT - there’s no crashing out in this round, so you can keep scoring even if you fail to meet the double letter criteria above in a round or declare an invalid word i.e. don’t stop if you dud a round!
BEEP would score 4 points.
HAMMER would score 6 points.
SUMMATION gets you 9 points
MATRIX gets you nothing but it DOESN’T end your game.
etc.
There is a multiplier on offer - if you declare a word with either two instances of double letters, or three - your score for that word will be doubled or tripled respectively. I’m unaware of any words that used 4 x double letters.
i.e.
DEEPNESS would score you 16 points.
BOOKKEEPER would score you a cool 30 points (hence the round name)
Good luck!
